Covid-19 Resources
Jencap will continue to release updates and pertinent information as it becomes available. The material provided on this page is intended to offer guidance and resources to our retail clients during these unprecedented times.
Guidance Regarding COVID-19 claims
Given the constantly developing story around COVID-19 and related issues including coverage and claims, we would remind our retail broker/agent partners to continue to report claims to insurance carriers in accordance with the terms outlined in the applicable policy(ies). The determination as to whether or not Coronavirus related claims and potential claims are covered rests with the insurance carriers. While we cannot interpret a policy, we will do our best to assist or advocate for your client as needed. Carefully consider each claim before reporting. This will assist carriers in focusing on those claims with merit and potentially improve outcomes.
We will remain in close contact with our carrier partners regarding their current position on terms and coverage response as it is related to COVID-19.
State by State Regulatory Bulletins that request and/or require accommodations for insureds
In order to help agents and brokers manage the massive amount of state level proposals, bulletins and regulations, WSIA (Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association) has analyzed each of the statements from regulators and compiled a compliance chart of those states requesting or requiring a moratorium on cancellation and nonrenewal of policies or relaxation of premium due dates.
